Users who subscribed to Spotify Premium services through Apple’s in-app purchase system could not do that anymore. Affected subscribers, who had received an email about the upcoming change, will be switched to a free, ad-supported membership at the end of the current billing cycle. They need to re-subscribe to keep their Premium subscription as their accounts have been moved on to the Free account. It is another move for the company to fight against Apple’s policy of taking 30 percent of in-app purchases. In 2016, Spotify stopped allowing new customers to subscribe to its Premium tier membership through Apple’s in-app purchase system. Please be noted if you are one of the affected subscribers.
